The historic sandstone building at the heart of the busy Greenwood Hotel in North Sydney was once a schoolhouse. It’s been a popular pub for decades and over the years the venue has undergone major renovations.

Robert Plumb Build was commissioned to transform The Greenwood’s exterior space, in particular the northern and southern courtyards. The brief was to create outdoor dining spaces that could double as casual entertainment areas in the evening.

To achieve this goal we utilised a variety of bar tables, timber picnic tables, stools and chairs. The northern courtyard features distinctive ceramic tiles in a graphic palette of off-white, grey and black and is delineated from the other spaces with potted plants, mid-century umbrellas and built-in furniture upholstered in bold black, grey and white striped fabric.
